Categories of cookies and similar technologies used on BookTarot, with consent controls aligned to GDPR/ePrivacy and US state laws.
Categories
- Essential (always on): session, security, fraud prevention, language preference, geo routing.
- Functional (opt-in outside EU/UK; pre-checked elsewhere where law allows): saved filters, accessibility preferences.
- Analytics (opt-in everywhere): PostHog product analytics in cookieless server-side mode by default; first-party storage only after consent.
- Marketing (opt-in): currently inactive at launch. We will not enable marketing cookies without granular consent.
Per-category controls
You can withdraw or update consent at any time via the cookie preferences link in the footer. Consent records (category, timestamp, IP, policy version) are retained for audit.
Browser controls
You may also use browser controls (Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control) which we honor where technically feasible.
